Chernihiv region
This is the place where people come to meet the spring. Indeed, the primroses are gems and particular highlights of the park. The snowdrops (Galanthus nivalis), Siberian squills (Scilla siberica) and alpine squills (Scilla bifolia) and different types of Corydalis make a vibrant flower carpet that covers the park area and gives a delightful feeling of nature awakening and its renewal.
The Uday and Ichenka Rivers form unique wetland landscapes in the Ichnya National Nature Park.
In the park, which is located on the border of Polissia and forest-steppe zone, there grow more than 50 rare and uncommon species of plants; the most interesting of them are the Bohemian sedge (Carex bohemica), cutleaf anemones (Pulsatilla patens), martagon lilies (Lilium martagon), lesser butterfly-orchid (Platanthera bifolia) and others.
The Ichnya Park is valuable due to its fauna, too. There are 39 species of animals under special protection including badgers, elks, otters (Lutra lutra), aquatic warblers (Acrocephalus paludicola), stag beetles (Lucanus cervus) and others.
