Shatsk National Nature Park is an ideal place for bird-watching. During migration period, about 80,000 birds rest on the lakes or near them. It is really worth bathing in the lakes, enjoying the sun on beaches, tasting cottage cheese pancakes (syrnyky) and Ukrainian doughnuts with blueberry (pampushky), living in campsites and cycling in forests. You can also go kayaking on Luky Lake among real “flower fields” of yellow water lilies (Nuphar lutea) and white water lilies (Nymphaea alba).
Before travelling to this place, you better recall the play “Forest Song” by Lesia Ukrainka. During the treatment in Georgia where Lesia wrote the piece of work, she mentioned the following in her letters: “It seems to me that I just have recalled our forests and yearned for them. I have kept that Mavka in my mind for long time… I ran alone in the forest at moonlight night (no one knew about that) and waited there for Mavka to appear before me”.

A part of the park territory is a reserve area. This is a unique ecosystem of natural lake and forest complexes. We preserve the natural course of processes in these places. It is prohibited to enter the reserve area.
